I might not be around much this weekend and the beginning of the week. Thursday afternoon my grandpa, FawFaw, W.A.R., passed away. We've been expecting it for awhile now, and he finally left us to join meemee. Although 94 years is definitely a good life, so he deserves the rest. His father strapped the plow to his back at 4 years old and he worked 7 days a week up until about 2 years ago.
I still can remember all the hunting trips, and when he first taught me how to shoot ^_^ [granted i'm from the "big" city, but i'm still a texas girl, got to learn to shoot long before i even entered middle school]. I can also remember just sitting quietly in his lap while he read the newspaper, or promising to be a good girl so i could share his black jelly beans or nutter butters, [i learned quickly that "children should be seen, and not heard", granted he was never mean to my chatterbox siblings, but i definitely got more treats .
I'll miss you fawfaw, but you certainly deserve your break now after looking after all of us for so long. We'll miss you, but never forget you.
